We settled on Inheritance as our theme in part because the Maryland Institute College of Art, where we are based, is celebrating its bicentennial this year. In recognition of this milestone, the issue includes a roundtable discussion on the past, present, and future of art schools. It appears alongside a stimulating mix of art, poetry, essays, and fiction from over two dozen contributors, including Lauren Alwan, Julie E. Bloemeke, Kei Ito, Raja'a Khalid, and Christopher Nelson.
